Training in Hotel Housekeeping aims to build up practical skills needed to perform the professional duties of employees in this specialized unit of each accommodation - an important element of a successful tourist product.

It is useful for job seekers as well as for those who would like to improve knowledge and competencies at their workplace.

Тraining can also be used by hotel managers to train staff in the hotel's housekeeping departments.

Courses, learning outcomes and target groups

Courses introduce you the basic knowledge about housekeeping, the interlinks with other departments and possibilities to upgrade your career path once you became professional in housekeeping, as well as   enlarge your knowledge about organization, planning and areas of responsibilities of the Hotel Housekeeping Department.

Trainees acquire:

  • Knowledge in the field of hotel housekeeping including organization, technology and functions of the hotel housekeeping in the whole process of hotel service. The trainee will acquire basic knowledge about instruments, tools and technical equipment, as well as regulations, rules and standards.
  • Skills to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication skills; good organizational skills; a good eye for detail; the ability to cope with a crisis and make decisions. A special emphasis will be put on soft skills such as how to communicate with the hotel's guests.
  • Competences to work with tools, machines, equipment; cleaning agents; Health and safety in the workplace; quality of the services provided; personal effectiveness and self-improvement; loyalty and integrity.

Target group

The course is designed for people who want to work or already have job and/ or experience in the field of hotel housekeeping.

The minimum required education is secondary school. Professional exchange among trainees could be an essential part of the training. Applicants need to prove a good command of the English language.

Training in Hotel Housekeeping structure

This is the first course from the training "Hotel Housekeeping" and it aims to introduce you basic knowledge about housekeeping, the interlinks with other departments and possibilities to upgrade your career path once you became professional in housekeeping.  

Second Course from the training “Hotel Housekeeping” enlarges your knowledge about organization, planning and areas of responsibilities of the Hotel Housekeeping Department. It aims to give you a general overview how this department operates and what are the basic skills, procedures and responsibilities that make the department runs smoothly. 

The third course from the Hotel Housekeeping introduce you Housekeeping daily routine including preparation for the activities according to the work schedule, how to clean and arrange guest's room, what is turndown etc. This is the hearth of housekeeping job and your knowledge about all these activities will help you do this professionally.

The fourth course from the training "Hotel Housekeeping" and it aims to introduce you basic knowledge about how important is the guest interaction and how to respect guest's privacy. Topics such as handling guest's items, queries, requests, gratuities and complaints are discussed in order to improve housekeeping service.
